• Image of Woven Wall Hanging “Into the Deep Three”

"Into the Deep Three" is an original piece designed using a variety of both handmade and recycled fibres. Created using both traditional weaving methods and contemporary ideas and additions. This highly textured work incorporates, knitted, woven, crochet and knotted elements.

Measuring 33 wide x 44cm in the body of the work and reaching to 77cm at it’s longest tendril. “Three” is a statement piece.

I only use fibres that are slow made, recycled where possible and kind to the earth, all yarns are handspun by me.

The following textiles have been used
Hand dyed recycled Silk Chiffon Ribbon.
Small batch recycled cotton which due to the nature of its production is not repeatable.
Japanese paper yarn
Slow made yarns which have been processed from messy fleece to yarn in my small home studio – merino, English Leicester, Corridale varieties
Eri Silk fibres – Eri silk is also known as “peace silk” and does not harm the silk moths in any way.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information or would like to discuss a commissioned piece.
